For the Rockstar Bride

On April 8th, 2019, I decided to host my first bridal styled shoot. I collaborated with both local and national women-owned businesses and our amazing muse and makeup artist, Bianca. The photoshoot was inspired by the modern, alternative bride with a free spirit and a rock n’ roll attitude.

The natural light studio we used was complete with distressed brick and original windows. Our model, Bianca, is a young SPFX make-up artist, with Neo-traditional tattoos and a unique style of her own. I had been following her on social media for a while, and believed she would be the perfect subject for the vibe that we were trying to achieve. We chose to listen to the Cure and Marilyn Manson while shooting.

We chose to use a white lace jumper on Bianca, provided by Celia Grace. This was paired with a hand-crafted luxury crown by Kata Banko Couture. Major Game of Thrones vibes! Both brands are rooted in sustainability. Being eco-friendly and ethical is IN, haven’t you heard? Posy Pgh provided an absolutely gorgeous bouquet full of greenery and mixed white flowers.

Then my stylist had a brilliant idea…put my faux-leather jacket over the jumper. The game was changed, she was a full-blown rockstar.

I could not leave out the chunky, platform heels. A homage to 1970’s musicians.

Celia Grace also provided us with a white lace dress topper, perfect for any bride who loves the look long sleeves, without the commitment. Both the Bohyne crown and hair pin from Kata Banko Couture were used.

Who knew 2 yards of $15 chiffon would completely transform the look of the entire setting? Draping the fabric over our model mocked a veil, while allowing us to show off her stunning features and the crescent moon hair pin.

To complete our photoshoot, we styled Bianca in a Celia Grace Indigo gown. The color of the gown against our model’s dark hair was the perfect combination. We paired this with a silver crown and geometric earrings from Kata Banko Couture.
